2lh Battery Canon

Does 7.2V instead of 7.4V matter for Lithium Ion batteries for Digital Cameras?
I am trying to buy an additional battery for my Canon camera. The model number of the battery is NB-2LH (7.4V, 850 mAh).
On ebay and some online stores, I am finding batteries which say they are compatible. My questions:
1. How reliable are these.
2. Many say 7.2V (instead of the original rating 7.4V). Does it matter?
I found this link which says, it doesn't matter. I want your opinion.

I don't have any experience with the generic Canon batteries but I have a generic Nikon battery which is 7.2v instead of 7.4v and have never had a problem with it.
I have bought dozens of generic Li-ion batteries on line and have never had any problems with them. My only recommendation is that you make sure you use an external charger to charge the batteries. Some of the generic batteries don't have the same overcharge protection stuff inside them and it might be very slightly possible to damage the charging circuit if it is charged in the camera. On an external charger there is no danger.
