Macbook users, how long does your battery last?
I just bought a new white macbook 13 inch, I believe it is the unibody design. I read on apple's website that the macbook can last 10 hours with a single charge. I use my mac for school work and I realize it barely lasts 6 hours. Once it is fully charged, it drops down to really fast. I just charged my mac an hour ago and it's already 60%. Is this normal?
The ten hours apple claims will be with the backlight barely on, probably not using Wifi and all the power saving stuff activated so 6 hours is still pretty decent.
There's a section in the System Preferences called Energy Saver (or something similar) and you can set up stuff so that you can get better battery life.
My two tips for getting more out of your battery would be to not use Wifi/airport unless you need it, keep the backlight as dim as possible and run as few applications as possible.
