Battery Canon 130
best lens in terms of photo quality and built?
just got an canon eos 450 and i was checking online regarding the review of the following lenses :
Canon EF 50mm F 1.8 II
Canon EF 28-105 mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM
i'm torn between the two lenses, don;t know what to buy.
also i was planning to buy the battery grip fro the same DSLR. original cost around $130.oo w/o batteries while third party makers is giving it for $ 99.oo plus two battries and extra freebies.
have you tried the $99.oo grip? is it worth it? thanks in advance
The 50mm lens is a prime, meaning it only shoots at one focal length. The advantage of that is that it can be engineered to perform specifically at that focal length. You'll probably find that it takes much sharper images than the 28-105mm. The 1.8 aperture will also be great for low-light shooting or short depth-of-field. The disadvantage of the prime is that it only has one focal length so you'll have to do a lot of walking to get your framing right. The other thing I've heard about the 50mm 1.8 is that the build quality feels cheap.
If you value sharp images over the convenience of zoom (and by zoom I mean the ability to change focal lengths) then go for the 50mm. Otherwise go for the 28-105mm.
As for the battery grip I have no experience with that.
