Need help! My Canon T2i / 550D wont turn on after magiclantern mixed up :S?
I followed the instructions in a straightforward tutorial, but something must have gone wrong, because my camera wont turn on.
I tried to update my camera, following this tutorial:
i really dont know where i messed up, because i turned off the powr, after a few seconds the ml update said "DONE!" in a black screen.
then i followed the other steps (deleting the ml.fir, using the eos card software, and adding the right files), but when i tried to turn on the camera, it didnt do a thing, so i took out the battery, cos i was afraid it could happen the overheat thing. Anyway, i tried to turn it on again, with and without the card, but nothing happened, so im screwed.
Do you know if i can fix it somehow, or if can try something?
I don't recall the bit about deleting the fir files. I thought these had to be present on the SD card for the camera to boot, as you have basically reprogrammed the camera to look for the fir files rather than the stock firmware.
The point of ML is that it should be non-destructive, you should not be flashing the camera, just the SD card.
I found the instructions hard to follow and gave up.
I hope you haven't bricked your cam, there is a very detailed thread on cinema5d.com (other canon cameras thread) where some users may be able to help you.
If you get back to working order, leave it at firmware 1.0.9 and forget ML.
