Battery Charger Canon Eos

Canon EOS 400D SLR + Standard lens is it good choice?
Hi. To all, I've asked already few times about different camera and etc. Finally I am decided to buy Canon 400D SLR, from reviews I am decided that it is a really good camera for beginners. I am already bought it for £310 (second hand) is it good deal?
It includes: Camera Body + Standard Lens kit. 1gb memory card, tripod, battery charger + power cable, usb, remote controller, strap, cleaning kit and CD's.
And what else I need to get started? Camera bag maybe?
Thanks to all.
You've paid a reasonable price for it, I'd rather have the 400D than the 1000D, but I personally don't like either for many reasons.
1) I find for my hand the larger 300D, xxD, 5D, 1D/s and larger cameras are more pleasant to hold. You'll probably be ok with the 400D though.
2) 400D and later cameras displays shooting settings on the main LCD....I find that annoying...but nothing wrong with it.
3) The 18-55mm lens is definitely not canon's best effort. I would recommend supplementing it with a 50mm f1.8 for portraits, and replacing it with a Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 or Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 or EF17-40mm f4L eventually.
Other things to get:
1) The Canon made cases (the "semi-hard" cases) are rubbish, I'd recommend either a Lowepro backpack or sling bag.
2) Filters are useful, I'd say skylight filter for 18-55mm, and a polariser - even though it's hard to use.
3) You may wish to upgrade your tripod at some point to something more solid, Manfrotto, Slik, Gitzo and Giottos are the top brands.
4) Photo magazines and books will help you develop technique.
