Battery Dell Inspiron 9200
keyboard problem?
I have a Dell Inspiron 9200 laptop and for the past few days there have been instances where the "U" key on my keyboard will stick, (all of a sudden I get "uuuuuu" on whatever screen my cursor is on). And then if it's not sticking, it's not working at all. So I restart my computer and get those annoying BIOS beeps. I don't know what it means because it is a continuous string of beeping. I had this *exact* same problem a year ago and was able to fix it by removing the battery and letting it sit for awhile before turning it back on. This solution is only seeming to work for a little while now though. I was told that it may have something to do with my CPU. Is this true and what can I do to fix it? (right now everything is working fine *crosses fingers*, but just in case...)
more information: when the "U" starts sticking and I open the windows task manager to close a few programs it stops for a *little* while at least.
p.s. cleaning the key did not help
If the key is cleaned and not physically sticking you may have a short-cut on your keyboard print.
In the shop they can remove it and clean it.
My Fujitsu-Siemens had the same problem with the "4" key, which I cold make only work when I pressed ctrl-alt-esc during the boot process once. After cleaning the entire print the problem was gone.
